Abstract
Madagascar is recognized worldwide for its rich biodiversity, both fauna and flora, with a
high degree of endemicity. This country is one of the very few places in the world where new
species are recently discovered: birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals. It contains a marine and
terrestrial mega-biodiversity as well as a harmonious and luxuriant landscape. The idea of
“promoting ecotourism in the island of Sainte-Marie through the preservation of the environment”
is the subject of this work was carried out from September 02, 2021 to April 28, 2022, and seems
to be a strategy for the actors concerned by visitors: Office Tourism, CETEMADA, GRET,
PCADDISM, guides, trackers, hosts, artisans, and travel agents; without causing harm to nature:
hunting, gathering, bush fires, slash and burn cultivation, illegal fishing and poaching. Also, prices,
products, placement or distribution channel should be clarified as there will be no promotion
without proper marketing. This marketing is only the art of bringing the products to market that
every entrepreneur uses to sell his services in order to be noticed, consumed, and attracted
customer satisfaction. These products are considered as the natural and cultural assets favorable to
ecotourism: the natural swimming pools, the beaches of the East and North-West Coast, the island
of Nattes, the First Catholic Church of Madagascar, the museum of Queen Betty, the pirate
cemetery, whale watching, etc. The elements are the curiosity of tourists and constitute a haven of
leisure and comfort to discover. The island of Sainte-Marie is on the right track to become the first
destination in Madagascar.
